Activities Department of the Year

Purpose: To recognize excellence in the delivery of activities services to the elderly population as an Activities Team. The respective department displays how a group of activity professionals work together to enhance the quality of life for the individuals meeting their needs and interests in a Person Centered environment.

Administrator of the Year

Purpose: To recognize excellence and support of the Administrator in their respective facilities. The Administrator should be actively involved in the quality of life in their facility as well as demonstrate a Person Centered environment.

State Association of the Year

Purpose: To recognize Activities State Associations who have encouraged and supported their membership to obtain their highest level of professionalism. A State Association that encourages NCCAP certification and displays support for their members.

Web Site of the Year

Purpose: To recognize that technology assists the Activity Professional in the delivery of activities services to those individuals in their respective facilities. State Association and Activity web sites are eligible for this recognition.

MEPAP Instructor of the Year

Purpose: To recognize excellence in the delivery of education for those individuals seeking NCCAP Certification. Instructors who maintain a high level of
education for those who are seeking to complete their journey to become Activity professionals.

NCCAP Supporter of the Year

Purpose: To recognize companies who support the principles and goals of NCCAP. Their dedication to the activities profession by supplying education, resources, materials and equipment that enhance the delivery of activities services to individuals in longterm care. They also provide opportunities for activity professionals to contribute to the profession.

NCCAP Spirit Award

Purpose: To recognize those individuals or groups that are not directly working in the field of activities, but display their “spirit” of meeting the individual needs of residents/participants within the realm of delivering activities services. These individuals and/or groups provide quality of life experiences.

Please attach the following information:

  1. Letters of recommendation from staff, residents/participants, activity
    professionals, volunteers and/or family members. Please keep in mind
    that these letters must reflect the purpose of the category that you are
    applying for. Materials will be presented to the nominees as well as the
    winner of the award.
  2. Information needed for a brief introduction of the nominee at the NCCAP
    Awards celebration.
  3. Packets should not contain more than 10 pages of information and where
    appropriate should include resident/participant statements.
  4. All information will remain confidential and awards will be presented at the
    Annual NCCAP Symposium. The NCCAP Awards committee will notify the
    submitter with time to make arrangements for individuals/groups to attend
    the NCCAP Symposium. All costs associated with attending will be up to
    the submitter and/or nominee.
  5. If nominee is unable to attend, submitter should notify NCCAP with an
    appropriate substitute for the celebration.
  6. Deadline: February 1 of each year.
